International sanctions: forcing development

Annotation

Subject/Topic This article is devoted to the analysis of international economic sanctions, including the purposes of their introduction and mechanisms of implementation. Using the example of the Russian economy, the strategies chosen in this country for adaptation and minimisation of negative effects are studied. In the course of the work, such methods as literature analysis, synthesis, analogy were applied, and the principles of historicism and interdisciplinarity were observed.

Aims/Objectives The author aims to identify the effects from the introduction of sanctions measures on the domestic economy of the country subjected to restrictions.

Results/findings In the context of increasing geopolitical tensions around the world, the issue of studying the impact of international sanctions is becoming more and more acute. Their use is worth considering as a foreign policy tool. Despite all the difficulties encountered, Russia was able to identify its most vulnerable places and took measures to eliminate them. This, in turn, allows us to talk about the increase in industrial capacity and further modernisation of many sectors.

Keywords: economic sanctions; state policy; socio-economic development; anti-Russian restrictions; import substitution; trade turnover; regulation.

The role of neural networks in transforming research methods and practice in world politics

Abstract

Subject/Topic The subject of the research is the question of how and why to use neural networks in research practice and analysis of world politics, as well as to identify the risks associated with their implementation.

Goals/objectives The purpose of the scientific research is to systematically analyze the potential and difficulties of neural network technologies in the science of international relations and to develop practical recommendations for their effective use.

Methodology The research methodology includes comparative analysis, case studies of the interaction of neural networks in academic projects, as well as Big Data analytics.

Conclusion Every year, one can notice the growth of automation of human activity due to increasingly advanced AI technologies, the expansion of the number of large data arrays and computing power. Also, artificial intelligence AI and neural network technologies are rapidly penetrating the field of international relations science, but the theoretical and methodological understanding of their application remains at an early stage. Over the past four years, many disciplines have been considered in practice in which AI was introduced, international relations are no exception.

The practical significance of the work lies in identifying the exact directions of AI interaction in the research process and foreign policy consulting, and the scientific significance lies in increasing the methodological base of international studies through digital tools of analysis and forecasting. The main results of the work show that AI is capable of significantly increasing the accuracy of analysis of international processes, reducing the time of information processing and identifying hidden patterns in complex political systems. The findings emphasize the importance of combining AI tools with traditional methods of analysis to maintain research subjectivity.

Keywords: artificial intelligence; international relations; world politics; neural networks; big data; conflict prediction; automation of analysis; AI ethics; research methodology; digital technologies; foreign policy consulting.
