Management of the macroregion development: the south pole of growth

Abstract

Subject/Topic Management of the macroregion development: the South Pole of Growth. Advantages and problems in functioning of the macroregion as a system of complementary regions and a system of hierarchically arranged poles and growth points.

Goals/Objectives To systematize opportunities and limitations of the development in the direction of interregional cooperation, cluster initiatives within the South Pole of growth, to identify problems and the development potential of the macroregion, and to work out a conceptual management model for the development of the South Pole of Growth.

Adult population public confidence in the economic reforms in the context of personal qualities

Abstract

Subject / Topic The article analyzes and summarizes the main reasons for the population’s mistrust in economic reforms currently undertaken in Russia, the ways to increase the confidence are considered. Different types of confidence in the reforms are analyzed. Specific features of confidence in the reforms in different social and age groups of the population are revealed.

Goals / Objectives To identify the personality characteristics of adults influencing the formation of public confidence in economic reforms.

Methodology The methodology of the research is based on general and special methods of scientific knowledge: theoretical analysis, methods of empirical research. The leading approach to the study of this issue is the cultural-historical concept of LS. Vygotsky and his followers, which allows to consider the development of the personality in a complex taking into account the specifics of this historical moment. We also relied on the approaches of S. Moskovici, V. Raich and Ortega y Gasset, in which the features of mass consciousness are revealed.

Conclusions and Relevance In the empirical study, differences in attitude towards reforms among respondents aged 25-40 and 41-60 years in the context of their personal characteristics were revealed. The necessity of special studies of the attitude to reforms and the search for ways to manage these processes with the aim of greater involvement of different population groups in the implemented reforms is substantiated.

Abstract

Subject / Topic Existing approaches and methods for classifying companies from the point of view of management and traditional understanding and methods of making managerial decisions applicable to them in practice are not sufficient and irrelevant. It is confirmed by the practice of doing business and by assessing the distinctive criteria in different industries, which make it necessary to identify innovative companies in terms that are understandable, independent of the industry and spheres of business, and which can be objective in the management aspect.

Goals / Objectives The aim of the work is to summarize in the context of the company’s life cycle the classical approaches to measuring and evaluation of the stages of the company’s development and its features in the business environment form the point of view of functioning and overall development. Next, it is necessary to identify what criteria, applicable to the real companies, can characterize them as “innovative” and can later be applied to companies of different industries to define them as “innovative”.

Methodology The research was conducted on the basis of current data of functioning companies and is based on the principles of systemic and integrated approach. The tools include methods of analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, methods of logical and semantic analysis.

Conclusions and Relevance The criteria for “innovativeness” of companies that can be applied regardless of the industry of the company and the spheres of business are revealed, showing measurable characteristics of the company at the level of meanings. Comparisons of traditional approaches and derived criteria based on the consideration of practical cases of existing companies were carried out.

Cryptocurrency in the modern monetary system, advantages and disadvantages

Abstract

The idea of creation of independent private money is not new, but only recently the necessary level of economic development and technological sophistication was achieved to make this concept practical. Conceptual development and practical implementation of blockchain technology resulted in creation of cryptocurrencies, most notably Bitcoin. It’s growing popularity and capitalisation, spread of worldwide implementation, legal and public debate rises the question, whether it may become primary international currency, and puts modern monetary system at a risk. In this article the authors investigate concept of cryptocurrencies on the stands of Austrian economic school and Mises regression theorem to find out whether they may be characterised and treated as a currency. The authors review Bitcoin, its history and underlying technology, participation scheme, that is based on voluntary partaking of miners, whose rewards are not fixed and guaranteed. As a result of research and prior work the authors provide propositions for institutional architecture change to address contemporary economic problems, international and technological developments.

Keywords: cryptocurrencies, bitcoin, Austrian economics, regression theorem, monetary system, e-money.
